Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) welcomed more than 1,100 students and their families to its Third Annual Back to School Bash, making this year's event the largest and most successful to date.
Held at a new location this year, with more space at Culpeper County High School, the free community event brought together families, educators, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and public safety agencies to help students prepare for the new school year while celebrating the strong partnerships that make Culpeper County a special place to learn and grow.
More than 40 community partners participated in the event, providing valuable resources, information, activities, and giveaways for students and families. Attendees enjoyed free school supplies, games, free food, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with organizations that support children and families throughout the year.
New this year, a “center stage” was added with a full schedule to allow community organizations to showcase their talents, with demonstrations of dance performances, theatre performances, aerial silks, and more.
"This event continues to grow because our community believes in investing in our students," said CCPS Division Superintendent Dr. Tony Brads. "Seeing more than 1,100 students and families come together before the first day of school is a testament to the incredible partnerships we have throughout Culpeper County. We are grateful to every organization and volunteer who helped make this day such a success."

Bounce VA (Danny's Bounce House) for providing inflatables that kept students entertained throughout the morning.
Little Caesars Pizza for helping feed attendees.
I&L DJ Services for providing music and creating a fun, energetic atmosphere.
Kona Ice and Travelin' Tom's Coffee for offering refreshing treats and beverages.
Orange School of Performing Arts for providing and installing the dance floor to create the center stage
Kash Imprints for partnering with us to promote the event and our schools
And more than 40 community partners who shared resources and services with families.
CCPS also offers special thanks to the Culpeper Police Department and the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office for hosting the annual Pack the Patrol Car school supply drive and distributing backpacks and school supplies to students during the event. Both agencies spent the morning with us, engaging with families and also enjoying the CCPS Bike Bus and the bicycle course, helping to promote bicycle safety within the community.
The Back to School Bash has become a signature community event for CCPS, ensuring students begin the school year equipped with the supplies, resources, and encouragement they need to succeed. Beyond preparing students for the classroom, the event reinforces the division's commitment to building strong relationships between schools, families, businesses, and community organizations.
