Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS), in partnership with Career Partners, is proud to highlight two impactful Career Exploration experiences for students: Manufacturing and Construction Day and Virtual Healthcare Day. These initiatives are designed to introduce students to high-demand career pathways and connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities.

Manufacturing and Construction Day, held on March 25, brought together eighth-grade students from Culpeper Middle School and Floyd T. Binns Middle School for a hands-on, immersive experience. Students visited local industry sites, including Taft Constructions’ renovation of Culpeper County Middle School, Rochester Cable, and Cabinetworks where they were joined by Cedar Mountain Stone and Chemung Contracting. Students were engaged in interactive rotations and learned directly from professionals in the field. The day emphasized careers such as advanced manufacturing, skilled trades, engineering technology, and construction management, fields that are vital to the regional economy.

This event was made possible through the generous support of Culpeper Economic Development, whose sponsorship provided students with career exploration materials and resources to deepen their understanding of local workforce opportunities. Their partnership helped ensure students left with both knowledge and inspiration for future career pathways.

On March 31, 2026, CCPS partnered with UVA Culpeper Medical Center to host a Virtual Healthcare Day, connecting students directly with healthcare professionals across a wide range of specialties. During the event, students explored careers in nursing, radiology, rehabilitation services (including physical, occupational, and speech therapy), laboratory science, pharmacy, perioperative services, and physician leadership. Students gained insight into the daily responsibilities of these roles, the skills and education required, and how each department works together to provide comprehensive patient care. The experience concluded with a live question-and-answer session, allowing students to engage directly with healthcare professionals and deepen their understanding of careers in the medical field.

CCPS extends sincere appreciation to UVA Culpeper Medical Center for sponsoring the Virtual Healthcare Day and for their continued commitment to supporting student career exploration and workforce development in our community.

“These experiences are exactly what Career Partners is all about, connecting our students to real-world opportunities and helping them see what’s possible for their future,” said Randi Richards-Lutz. “We are incredibly grateful to our community partners for opening their doors, sharing their expertise, and investing in the next generation of our workforce.”

Both events reflect the strength of Career Partners and the shared commitment to preparing students for future success. By providing early exposure to career opportunities, these experiences empower students to make informed decisions about their academic and career journeys.

CCPS is grateful to all Career Partners, sponsors, staff, and community members who made these meaningful learning opportunities possible.
