Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) is proud to announce that Angie Fiscus has been named the founding Principal of Mountain Run Elementary School, which is scheduled to open for students in the Fall of the 2027–2028 school year. The Culpeper County School Board approved the recommendation during its February 2, 2026 work session, marking an exciting milestone as the division prepares to open its seventh elementary school.

Fiscus will continue serving as Principal of Yowell Elementary School through the 2026–2027 school year, where she will remain a strong leader for students, staff, and families before beginning her next chapter at Mountain Run.

In her 25th year of dedicated service to education, all with CCPS, Fiscus brings a wealth of experience, deep community roots, and a proven commitment to student success. She began her career with CCPS as an Instructional Assistant at Farmington Elementary School, then teaching third grade at Farmington for eight years. During that time, she was honored as Farmington Teacher of the Year in the 2006–2007 school year.

Her educational journey continued as the Instructional Resource Technology Teacher (ITRT) at Emerald Hill Elementary for 6.5 years, followed by 4.5 years as Assistant Principal at Sycamore Park Elementary School. In 2021, she became the Principal of Yowell Elementary, where she has been celebrated for fostering a supportive, student-centered school culture.

Fiscus holds a Virginia license in Elementary Education (PreK–6) and Administration and Supervision (PreK–12). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University, a Master of Education in Educational Technology from Troy University, and an Educational Leadership Endorsement from James Madison University.

A proud member of the Culpeper community, Fiscus lives in Culpeper with her husband and three children, all of whom have attended or currently attend CCPS schools. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, creating Diamond Art, and traveling with her family.

Reflecting on her new role, Fiscus shared her excitement for the opportunity ahead, “After many years serving Culpeper County Public Schools in a variety of roles across several schools, I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to bring those experiences together to help open a school that reflects the very best of our community. I’m especially looking forward to reconnecting with students, families, and colleagues I’ve worked with throughout the division and building new relationships as we create a welcoming school community together.”

Culpeper County Public Schools looks forward to the leadership, vision, and enthusiasm that Angie Fiscus will bring as Mountain Run Elementary School begins its journey as the division’s newest place for learning, growth, and community pride.
