Culpeper County Public Schools has taken a major step forward in the construction of its newest school, Mountain Run Elementary. In the School Board meeting on Monday, November 10, 2025, the Board authorized the Superintendent to enter into a contract with the apparent low bidder upon successful completion of all post-award administrative requirements.

On Friday, November 14, Division Superintendent Tony Brads officially signed the contract with Taft Construction, the local firm selected to build Mountain Run Elementary School.

Bids for the project were opened on Friday, November 7, with seven general contractors submitting proposals. Following a thorough review, our architectural partner recommended Taft Construction as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

CCPS has maintained a strong working relationship with Taft Construction through previous projects, including the current Culpeper Middle School renovation. Their proven reliability and partnership contributed to the division’s confidence in awarding this contract.

Construction of Mountain Run Elementary School marks an important investment in the division’s growing student population and future educational facilities.
