On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Culpeper County Public Schools MCJROTC Raider Team traveled to Gar-Field Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, for a full day of competition. After a 5:30 a.m. departure, cadets arrived at Gar-Field by 7:00 a.m. to take part in the meet.
The Raiders earned 2nd place overall in the competition, highlighted by breaking the Rope Bridge team breaking the course record with a time of 1:36, a major achievement for the program.
Overall, the top teams included:
1st Place – Mountain View High School
2nd Place – Culpeper County (CCHS & EVHS)
3rd Place – Goochland High School
4th Place – Heritage High School
The event drew hundreds of cadets, parents, and supporters. Families were encouraged to bring lawn chairs, snacks, and walking shoes for the muddy, all-day competition.
Looking ahead, CCPS will host the Marine Corps Raider Virginia State Championship at Eastern View High School on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The opening ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. CCPS leadership and community members are invited to attend and cheer on the Raiders as they compete against top teams from across Virginia.
The following schools have qualified for the state championship: Culpeper County Public Schools (EVHS - hosting school), Goochland High School, Heritage High School, Mountain View High School (2024 winner), Patrick Henry High School, Spotsylvania High School (winner of the Regional Meet), Courtland High School–CHCORI, Gar-Field High School, Battlefield High School, Chantilly Academy, Quantico High School, and Caroline High School.
