Culpeper, VA — Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) will be implementing a new online payment system, SchoolCash Online, that makes it easier and more convenient for parents/guardians to pay for school items by credit card.
Secure and easy-to-use, SchoolCash Online offers 24/7 shopping convenience to parents and guardians who can manage all their child/children's school activity fees with a single account and use a Visa or Mastercard as a method of payment. Parents/guardians can elect to receive email notifications as new items become available for purchase and can access their account history at any time to view activity and print receipts as needed. SchoolCash Online is available in over 100 languages and will not send any promotional materials to users.
Once an account is created, users will be able to add up to fifteen students on each account and each student can be attached to five different user accounts at a time. This gives options for parents, grandparents, or others to pay for school items for a student.
In addition to the benefits to parents and guardians, SchoolCash Online will provide significant time savings for teachers and administrative staff who will spend less time receiving cash and checks in classrooms and offices. SchoolCash Online also offers a guest checkout option so that members of the public can pay for theatre productions, spirit wear, and the like.
This system will not replace MySchoolBucks for cafeteria purchases or GoFan for athletic ticket purchases, but instead, will be available for all other in-school charges. Parents and guardians will still have the option to pay by cash or check.
"SchoolCash Online provides numerous benefits to our entire school community in terms of convenience and time-savings," said Jeff Shomo, CCPS Executive Director of Finance. The finance department has set a target launch date of October 15 for the new system.
CCPS families will receive more information in the coming weeks about how to register for a SchoolCash Online account and start making credit card payments online.
