Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) is pleased to announce that Jerrie “Lynn” Holmes will be the new Assistant Principal at Culpeper County High School (CCHS) effective July 3, 2023. 

Mrs. Holmes has 25 ½ years’ experience in public education including ten years as an Instructional/Literacy Coach for Fairfax County Public Schools.  She also has three years’ experience as a Reading Specialist in North Carolina Schools and 12 ½ years as an Elementary School Teacher in North Carolina. 

Mrs. Holmes holds a Bachelor’s degree in English & Elementary Education and a Master of Education in K-12 Literacy, both from the University of North Carolina.  She earned a Graduate Certificate in Educational Administration from Shenandoah University. She holds a Virginia license in the areas of English 6-12, Elementary Education PreK-6, Reading Specialist K-12, Administration and Supervision PreK-12.

Mrs. Holmes’ husband, Craig, is a Project Manager for Henderson Building Solutions.  They have two children, a daughter, Elizabeth, who is a teacher in Stafford County and son, Michael, who is an Assistant Project Manager for Dyna Electrical Contractors. Mrs. Holmes shared that she loves to do puzzles, brain teasers and read. She also enjoys traveling, sight-seeing and exploring new areas with her husband.

Holmes fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Virginia Wright.  When asked about this new position, Mrs. Holmes said, “I am excited to be joining the Culpeper County High School team.  I look forward to building relationships with students, families, staff, and community members as we ensure that every student graduates with plans they can accomplish after high school.”
