Attention CCPS Families!

Based on feedback received from our schools and families, Culpeper County Public Schools is pleased to announce a one-time reopening of enrollment for the optional Chromebook Protection Plan at the beginning of the second semester.

Families who did not enroll during the August enrollment window will have another opportunity to participate in the plan from January 6 through January 16, 2026.

Chromebook Protection Plan – Second Semester Enrollment Details

For a non-refundable fee of $30, families may enroll their student in the Chromebook Protection Plan, which will provide coverage for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year. This plan is designed to help families avoid unexpected repair or replacement costs due to accidental damage.

If enrolled:

The first and second incidents of accidental damage are covered at 100%, with no cost to the student or parent/guardian.

Any third or subsequent incidents are the responsibility of the student or parent/guardian.

Please note that there are no longer any free repairs for accidental breakage for students who are not enrolled in the protection plan.

Important Reminders

The protection plan does not cover intentional damage, loss, or damage due to neglect

If damage or loss is determined to be intentional or the result of negligence, the student and/or parent/guardian will be responsible for 100% of the repair or replacement cost, regardless of enrollment status.

⚠️ Eligibility Note: Any student with an outstanding Chromebook invoice must pay that
invoice in full before they can purchase this protection plan.

🕒 Enrollment Details

The $30.00 payment is non-refundable and must be made by the end of the school day on Friday, January 16, 2026 (or within 15 days of receiving a CCPS device for students who enroll after the start of the school year).

One plan must be purchased per student per school year to maintain coverage.

Payments will be made to each student’s school and can be done through SchoolCash Online, cash or check.  Check your SchoolCash Online account or your child’s school for more information.

Why It Matters

Technology plays an essential role in student learning. This protection plan is a cost-effective way to safeguard your child’s school-issued device and avoid potentially significant out-of-pocket expenses in case of accidental damage.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your school’s main office or the CCPS Technology Department.
