S. Heaney’s fourth grade class is getting in the holiday spirit! They’ve learned about Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah. The class read a story about a boy who teaches his friends about his family’s winter holiday Hanukkah while attending his friend’s Christmas party. The class played a round of Spin the Dreidel as they celebrated different customs and traditions around the world. However you celebrate the season, Happy Holidays!

🧼✍️ Sensory Play Fun in Silver’s Room!
Mrs. Silver's students had a blast diving into sensory play today! They practiced writing in shaving cream—a hands-on way to build fine motor skills and letter formation (and help clean the tables at the same time 😉).
They also got creative making foam dough, squishing and shaping as they explored textures and worked those little hand muscles.
Learning through play is the best kind of learning! 💙🖐️🎉

Come out to our stem night to find out why Miss Swope's hair looks like this. We are in the gym from now until 7 PM. We hope you can make it.

Does your student have a Student Reading Plan? If you have questions please join Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Noel in the cafeteria tomorrow night.
Students across the building have been working hard to develop oral reading fluency which is an essential for strong comprehension. If you ever have any questions about reading or supporting your child in reading reach out to knoel@ccpsweb.org

Our preschoolers just started a new investigation- Healthy You! They are learning about healthy habits to take care of their bodies. Last week they got to pretend to clean teeth like a dentist, drew pictures of things they do to keep their teeth healthy, reviewed the 5 senses, investigated different kinds of foods with their senses, and had fun singing Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.

Mrs. Foster's young explorers took a global adventure today after reading How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World!
Students teamed up for a Breakout challenge where they used math skills, critical thinking, and teamwork to crack codes and unlock each puzzle. The final surprise? The spoons for their treat were locked inside the boxes—so they had to solve every clue to enjoy their well-earned apple pie and ice cream! 🍎🥧✨
Such a fun way to mix literacy, problem-solving, and a sweet celebration!

Ms. Marples’ 5th graders turned into musical detectives last week!
With sharp eyes and quick thinking, they teamed up to help Mrs. Pratt and Mrs. Dugger crack The Case of the Missing Mallets! Students searched for clues, solved tricky music riddles, and unlocked each box one by one—ultimately discovering the hidden mallets (lollipops!).
What a great mix of teamwork, problem-solving, and musical mystery! 🎶🔎✨

🍕 Miss Swope’s third graders are cooking up some math magic! Each time they master a new multiplication fact, they add a slice to their pizza chart. Bit by bit, their pizzas — and their math fluency — are growing! We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication to becoming multiplication masters! 🍕✨ #MathFluency #MultiplicationMasters #LearningIsDelicious #ElementaryMathFun
🎭 What a fun morning! Ms. Huntt’s class — along with all of 5th grade — got to enjoy the CMS musical “Something Rotten Jr.". We had a blast seeing the amazing sets, costumes, singing, and dancing! 🎶👏 We even got to see some former stallions perform!
A huge THANK YOU to CMS for hosting us, and a special shout-out to our very own Ms. Mahokey and Mrs. Pratt for helping bring the show to life!
