Another great reader for Read Across America Week! So thankful that Ms. Metzger read to our Kindergarten and 2nd grade students! 💕

One of our students’ favorite things about Read Across America Week is when we “drop everything and read”! Here, our Pre-K students are soaking in their love of reading!

This past week we had some special middle school readers come to #SPES! These students read books to our Kindergartners! #atthepark

We're still celebrating Read Across America Week #atthepark!

5th graders in Ms. Pullen’s class had fun rotating through stations to learn about static electricity. #atthepark

Mrs. Wang’s friends working out motion unit! How can we make a marble move in a straight motion through pool noodles in the fastest way?

As a part of Read Across America Week, members of our central office staff are taking the time to read to our students! We appreciate the love they show our kids, and our students enjoy having them there! In this photo, Mr. Steven Rice reads a bilingual book to a group of ELL students in Miss Dodson’s class. 💕 #atthepark

As part of Read Across America Week, students are dropping everything and reading (DEAR) books throughout the day. Here #atthePark, Ms. Groene's Kindergarten class is taking time to explore and read a variety of books!

Before the reading of our weekly story, students practiced some pre-reading and test-taking strategies. With their partners, students completed a "walk-through" to help them set a purpose for reading. After looking at the genre of the story and the title, students flipped through the story while keeping an eye out for illustrations and other text features that may give them some insight to what the story is about. After looking through and discussing what they noticed with their partners, students wrote their ideas, and we took turns sharing those ideas with the class.

Good afternoon Panthers!! Next week is Read Across America Week! To celebrate, we will have a few special things happening throughout the week #atthePark!

SCA collected valentines across all grade levels and delivered them to the residents at Culpeper Health and Rehab. SCA members were excited to give back to the community and are already thinking about their next service project!

Mrs. Jenkins' class was counting money and learning how to write it two different ways.

In Kindergarten we are learning about equal shares. Today, we made playdoh food and practiced cutting them in halves to share with a friend! #atthepark

During our speech session today with Mrs. Hauman, Mrs. Lindsey’s class worked on fine motor skills and on the words “love” and “like”. We made a Valentine’s Day crafts to give to those we love the most!
