At Phoenix, we know that the work of alternative education is built on relationships, patience, consistency, and a willingness to show up for students each and every day. We are proud to create opportunities for those efforts to be recognized by the people who experience them firsthand—our students and one another.

Each month, Phoenix students have the opportunity to recognize a Staff Member of the Month, celebrating a staff member who has made a positive difference in their school experience. Whether through encouragement, support, a listening ear, or simply believing in them, our students get a voice in recognizing the adults who help make Phoenix a place where they can grow and succeed.

This month. the students recognize Mrs. Richardson.  Mrs. Richardson is an English teacher and advocate for all students.  Students stated, “Mrs. Richardson is always there for us…” and  “Mrs. Richardson wins-  she is the number one teacher.” 

Phoenix staff also recognize one another through the Phoenix Apple Awards, which celebrate colleagues who have gone above and beyond in supporting students, coworkers, and our school community. This month Phoenix celebrates Mrs. Broyles and Mrs. Bough! Their “can do” spirit, coupled with their passion and commitment to students. make them instrumental to the Phoenix community.
