October is a busy month at the Phoenix Alternative Education Program! On October 6th, several of our students participated in their first day of the Groundwork Project which is a partnership between Verdun Adventure Bound and Rappahannock Goodwill Industries that offers career readiness and leadership development for at-risk youth. The eight week program uses experiential learning and ropes courses to teach job-seeking skills like resume writing, interviewing, and networking, as well as soft skills such as communication and teamwork.
