Last night we proudly celebrated our Medical Assisting Pinning Ceremony. This meaningful milestone represents hard work, perseverance, compassion, and growth. These students have dedicated countless hours to developing the knowledge and skills needed to care for others.

Throughout the program, students also worked toward earning their CCMA certification, an important step as they prepare for careers in the healthcare field.

We are incredibly proud of our future healthcare professionals and excited for all that lies ahead. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!

This week, our EMT and Firefighter students had the opportunity to learn from a special guest— PHI Air Medical Culpeper - AirCare 6.

During the visit, students gained insight into how air medical services operate, including the responsibilities of each crew member, career pathways, aircraft safety, and how to properly set up and manage a landing zone. The hands-on experience gave students a closer look at what it takes to be part of a flight crew.

We appreciate AirCare 6 for sharing their time and expertise with our students, and we thank the Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Department for their support in coordinating the landing zone.

Culinary Arts students from The Blaze Kitchen @ CTEC had the incredible opportunity to visit The Inn at Little Washington.

The experience began with a behind-the-scenes tour of the inn and its kitchen, where students learned how the brigade system keeps operations running smoothly and explored the elegant culinary spaces.

The group then traveled to Patty O’s Café & Bakery, where they toured both the kitchen and bakery operations, gaining insight into the day-to-day execution of the bistro while also enjoying some well-earned treats.

The visit concluded with a tour of the beautiful grounds, where students explored the gardens, met the inn’s alpacas and chickens, and learned more about the farm-to-table approach that defines this world-renowned destination.

The entire experience was led by Culinary Director Julian Eckhardt, Cameron Smith, Maitre du Fromage/Tea Master, and Jordan Mitchell, Culinary Administrative Coordinator, providing students with expert guidance and industry perspective throughout the day.

It was an inspiring and educational experience for our future chefs!

CTEC HOSA proudly attended the Sycamore Park STEAM Event last week, where students took on the role of educators by teaching elementary students—and even a few adults—how to perform Hands-Only CPR.

Participants practiced essential first steps, including assessing the scene, checking for responsiveness, and calling 911 using their creative “painted phones.” They also learned proper compression rhythm using the beat of the song Baby Shark, making the experience both engaging and memorable.

To celebrate their efforts, each participant earned a heart-shaped stress ball as a fun reminder of the life-saving skills they practiced.

It was an incredible evening of leadership, learning, and community impact!
