This site will give you some facts to "walk like an Egyptian!"  Be sure to read the information below and then click on the pictures to make them bigger.  When you finish reading, complete the quiz on Egypt.    When you finish the quiz you can do some of the other activities at the bottom of this page!

Egypt is on the continent of Africa.
The Egyptians invented paper from a plant called papyrus, a 365 day calendar based on the sun, and the water clock.
The ruler of Ancient Egypt is called a Pharaoh.
The Egyptian written language is called hieroglyphics.  It uses pictures to write.
The wealthy or rich Egyptians were buried inside tombs.  Some of these tombs were inside pyramids that the Egyptians built.
The world's longest river is in Egypt.  It is called the Nile River.
The climate of Egypt is hot and dry.
When rich Egyptians, such as Pharaohs, died, they were mummified. 
Egypt is bordered by two seas.  The Mediterranean Sea borders Egypt on the North.  The Red Sea borders Egypt on the East.
 
The Nile River floods once a year, making silt or fertile land on the banks of the river.  This silt allows the Egyptians to farm.
