Internet Safety Resources for CCPS Schools

Introduction: The internet is a very powerful tool for information and communication. Even though it has many great uses, it would be irresponsible for us, as a community, to ignore its potential dangers. This web site is designed to provide internet safety resources for parents, students, and educators, so we will have the tools necessary for using the internet safely.

NetSmartz.org: "The NetSmartz Workshop is an interactive, educational safety resource from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for children aged 5 to 17, parents, guardians, educators, and law enforcement that uses age-appropriate, 3-D activities to teach children how to stay safer on the Internet."
i-Safe.org: "i-SAFE Inc. is a non-profit foundation whose mission is to educate and empower youth to safely and responsibly take control of their Internet experiences."
SafeKids.com: "SafeKids.com is one of the oldest and most enduring sites for Internet safety. Its creator, Larry Magid, is the author of the original 1994 brochure, “Child Safety on the Information Highway” and is also a technology journalist."
SafeTeens.com: From the creators of SafeKids.com, this web site is geared toward internet safety for teens.
WiredKids.org: "Wired Kids, Inc. is a U.S. charity dedicated to protecting all Internet users, especially children, from cybercrime and abuse. It operates several programs and Web sites designed to help everyone learn how to protect their privacy and security online and to teach responsible Internet use."
