The General Educational Development program is designed for persons who were once enrolled in school, but for various reasons, did not complete the requirements for high school graduation. Preparation Options The following options are available for persons who wish to develop or refresh the skills necessary for successful completion of the GED. GED Test Information The GED test battery is made up of five content area tests: Language Arts, Writing Test An average score of 450 points per test and an overall score of at least 2,250 points is required to pass. The minimum passing score for a test is 410 points; however, the total passing score must still be at least 2,250 points. Applicants can take each test three times per calendar year.
