Culpeper County Public Schools strives to support our new teachers so they can succeed in the classroom. We realize that college does not always prepare you for the real-life classroom. That is why we offer our new teachers the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program.
Our mentoring program encourages beginning teachers to explore their beliefs and challenge their assumptions about teaching with the help and support of a mentor. The program uses the best asset that every school has: experienced caring teachers who want to share their knowledge and love of teaching with others.
The objectives of our program are simple:
-
To integrate our new teachers into the school community.
-
To encourage our promising new educators to continue in the profession as a Culpeper County teacher.
-
To encourage confidence in our new teachers through collaborative problem-solving and reflection with a mentor.
-
To help insure quality instruction in the classroom through guided and shared planning.
If you are interested in this program and would like more information, please contact Denise Hunt, our licensure and recruitment specialist, at (540) 825-3677.
