"Koya's Cousin Del"

    applause - clapping
    auditorium - larage room for an audience in a theater or school
    autographs - people's signatures
    imitation - impersonation of another person or thing
    impatient - not willing to bear delay
    microphones - instruments for magnifying small sounds
    performers - persons who perform or entertain




"Children of Clay"

    figures - pieces of pottery
    polish - make smooth and shiny
    pottery - pots or dishes made from clay, hardened by heat
    screens - woven wire with small openings in between
    symbols - things that represent something




"Coming Home"

    dreamer - someone who has lots of dreams
    drifted - did not know or care where one was going
    heroes - admired persons
    librarians - people who organize and run a library
    rusty - has a lot of rust
    tremble - shake with fear or excitement




"Out of the Blue"

    almanac - annual publication with information about many subjects
    calendar - chart showing months, weeks, days, and dates of a year
    circulating - distribing
    electricity - form of energy
    experiment - trial or test
    inventions - things invented
    mysterious - hard to explain or understand
    theory - explanation based on observation and reasoning



"Chocolate is Missing"

    angle - point of view
    approach - come near
    brag - boast
    chocolate - substance used to make foods like candy, fudge, or ice cream
    poster - large printed sheet or notice hung on a wall
    presence - ability to project a sense of ease or poise
