evidence - facts or proof
guilty - having done wrong

convinced - caused to believe
engineer - an expert in engineering
gradually - slowly over a period of time
immigrants - people who come to a foreign country to live

"The Disguise"
cautious - very careful; not taking chances
chanting - singing on one tone
dangerous - likely to cause harm
disguise - to make a thing seem like something else
principal - the head of a school
recite - to say over; repeat
squatted - crouched on the heels
suspected - believed to be guilty, false, or bad without proof

"Keepers"
considering - taking into account
diamond - the space inside the lines that connect the bases in baseball; infield
grounders - baseballs that hit the ground
reminder - something to help one remember
stroke - a sudden attack of illness when a blood vessel breaks or becomes blocked
