Virginia Kindergarten SOL: Introduction to History
and Social Science
Economics K.6: The student will match simple
descriptions of work that people do with the names of those jobs.
A community is
made up of different groups of people who live and work together. The very smallest unit that could be called a
community is your family, and then comes your neighborhood, and finally the
town or city that you live in. People
work together in a community to help each other. Just about everyone in the community is a
helper in some way. That is what makes a
community, a group of people working
together to make a better place for everyone.
